A team brought together by Reedcomm Entertainment created the extraordinary promotional video for BIKE AFRICA. All professional services and equipement were generously donated to promote the cause.

Geoffrey Reed kick started the publicity campaign with an ingenious idea: that Mark McNamara be accompanied on his bicycle journey through Africa by an Australian ambassador. Geoffrey decided the ambassador should be an Australian icon who could “get behind” Mark as well as bring joy to thousands of African children across ten nations...  a cycling koala!

Beginning with this vision, Geoffrey engaged the

creative talent of Anifex, a leading Australian animation company, to bring the dream to reality.  Katie Dee, the cycling koala, was born on December 10, 2011.

Filming was carried out in the Anifex studio under the direction of Geoffrey Reed. Director of photography was award winning Australian cinematographer, Ernie Clarke.
