ALL I COULD DO WAS SMILE

ALL I COULD DO WAS SMILE

Ezulwini Valley, Swaziland

Well my moods have been as up and down as the mountain roads my poor little legs have been dealing with. Check out Mark's blog to see just how up and down that is!

We entered Swaziland and Mark entered a new year of his long, long life - I sang "Happy Birthday to You" loud enough for the elephants to hear. This was an up.

Then down came the rain and down went my frown. My fur was almost wet enough to drown me and be used as a sponge to wash a car with. This was a down.

In Dundee we stayed with a lovely family who works with bikes. The dad is fascinated by BMX bikes particularly, but all bikes in general. This family gave our hard working, well worn, bike a good once over. It was almost back to new again. This was an up.

Back on the road we hit mud, bumps, mud, bumps, mud bumps and more mud and more bumps. Four punctures later, I had had enough. This was a down.

Then for the biggest up so far. We entered the Swazi Cultural Village in the Ezulwini Valley. You should have heard the voices of these talented people. I could feel their songs deep in my belly and deep in my heart. Then there was the dancing. Then there was the wonderful costumes. Then there were the wonderful artworks and creations made by hand. These people met with me afterward so I could have a photo with them. I was so in awe of these proud people that for once in my life I was speechless.

All I could do was smile :-)
